Italy-Pakistan Collaboration Underway

There's a new advancement in Italy-Pakistan collaboration as officials of both countries discuss bilateral trade and diplomatic relations.

Andreas Ferrarese, the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan has proposed Italy’s desire to join hands with Pakistan to minimise losses and increasing productivity post-COVID-19. To discuss the Italy-Pakistan collaboration, this newly-appointed ambassador sat down in a meeting with the All Pakistan Business Forum (APBF) President Syed Maaz Mahmood and Khurram Niaz Khan, Secretary-General.

The Italian Ambassador stated that his country finds it imperative to improve relations and create ties with Pakistan. He added, saying Italy is willing to improve economic ties that will be mutually beneficial for both the countries. Both sides reached a mutual agreement to tie knots, particularly in the trade sector.

These trade links will give way to future visits of businessmen, higher-educational ties, social development, promotion of B2B meetings and an overall connection and understanding of both countries’ business communities. APBF President Syed Maaz Mahmood restated that Pakistan will its best to provide Italian businesses with a favourable business environment. Pakistan would distinguish and draw in associations and imperative business people to underwrite prospectives for cooperation and mutual development. This will consequently tighten the Italy-Pakistan bond.

In light of Italy-Pakistan Relations, dating back to July, the Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the Republic of Italy and wants to further enhance defence collaboration in different fields. He and Andreas Ferrarese sat down to discuss the matter. Defence cooperation between Pakistan and Italy was established in the ’60s and has steadily increased over the past few years. Moreover, the role, contribution and sacrifices of Italy in Afghanistan were appreciated and are highly regarded to date.

The recent meeting between the ambassador and APBF officials ended with Andreas Ferrarese confirming the interests of several Italian companies in Pakistan, seeing it as a prospective investment destination.
