K-Electric and Their Blunders

The people responsible for taking care of the city and working towards it's welfare have been ignorant due to which many people have lost their lives.

A girl who lost her brother due to the carelessness of K-Electric expresses how she feels. She wants justice for all the lives lost. Let me rewind a bit so it’s easier for everyone to understand. The second system of monsoon rains brought a lot of disaster in the city of Karachi. From the city of lights it went on to become the city of lost lives and fright.

Due to lack of proper sewage systems, most of the roads were filled with water during the heavy downpour. There were electric wires in the water as well and the current ran through it due to which many people lost their loved ones. Out of those many people, there was one person who was Mariam’s brother. She lost a sibling due to which her heart is aching.

She expressed her grief and frustration in a post which was meant for people who are responsible of taking care of the city.

A moment changed everything.I lost my brother Hamza Butt along with two of his friends, Talha and Faizan on Sunday,…

Hamza, along with his two friends Talha and Faizan, were out in the rainy weather when they lost their lives. Many other people died as well due to the weather conditions as there were no precautions taken by K-Electric. It is reported that almost 50 people lost their lives. How can someone sleep at night knowing that their actions have caused other people so much misery? How many more lives do we need to lose before any of these people are held accountable?

We might not be able to feel their pain because we’re not in their shoes but we do care. The least we can do it protest against such monopolistic organisations that do not care about anyone. We can stand with them during these hard times and raise our voices for a cause that is greater than personal grudges.

Let us know your thoughts.
