Malala Yousafzai’s First Look Of Her Debut Web Series ‘We Are Lady Parts’ Revealed

Malala Yousafzai's cameo in 'We Are Lady Parts' Season 2 promises an exciting twist for the acclaimed British comedy.

The excitement is palpable as the first images of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai’s guest appearance in the critically acclaimed British comedy series ‘We Are Lady Parts’ have been unveiled. Fans of the show, which follows the unpredictable adventures of an all-Muslim women punk band, are in for a special treat this season.

In the newly released images, Malala is seen in a stunning blue gown, perched atop a horse, her look completed with a stylish cowgirl hat. This surprising and delightful cameo is set to add a new layer of intrigue to the show’s second season, which premieres on May 30.

The returning cast includes Anjana Vasan, known for her roles in “Wicked Little Letters” and “Black Mirror”; Sarah Kameela Impey of “Vera” and “Halcyon Heights” fame; Juliette Motamed from “Halo” and “Magic Mike’s Last Dance”; Faith Omole who starred in “An Ideal Husband” and “Endeavour”; and Lucie Shorthouse, recognized from “Rebus” and “Henpocalypse!”

While talking about the show Malala revealed Vogue British, “I binge-watched it in a day. It was so good. And I remember when I finished the six episodes, I was still just sitting there. I could not believe that the show was just that short. I said, “I need another season, I need more episodes, I need them to be longer. I need more content like this.” It was probably the first show I watched where you had Muslim characters who weren’t side characters – you had five of them as the leads. That stood out.”

She also expressed her gratitude for adding a hat since she wears a scarf.

“When I saw the look and the hat, I knew they’d thought about it. I was really happy.”

Season two of ‘We Are Lady Parts’ dives deeper into the lives of its vibrant characters. The band, fresh off the exhilaration of their first UK tour, finds themselves facing new challenges as a rival group threatens to usurp their hard-earned success. This competition forces the band members to confront their true desires and question if the pursuit of fame is truly what they want.

Nida Manzoor, the creative force behind the series, has drawn inspiration from her personal experiences to craft these compelling storylines. In a previous interview, she hinted at a richer exploration of the characters’ inner worlds in the upcoming season. “We’ll delve into the personal journeys of each character, tackling new existential challenges, all while maintaining the humour, mishaps, and witty banter that fans loved in the first season,” Manzoor shared.

The new season promises even more original music, with Manzoor and her siblings penning fresh, wild tunes and innovative covers. The musical elements are set to be bigger and bolder, adding another exciting dimension to the show.

For those who need to catch up, all six episodes of the first season of ‘We Are Lady Parts’ are available for streaming on Peacock in the US and Channel 4 in the UK. The series is produced by Working Title Television, a branch of Universal International Studios, part of the Universal Studio Group.

With Malala’s intriguing cameo and the promise of more heartfelt, humorous, and musically vibrant episodes, the new season of ‘We Are Lady Parts’ set to captivate audiences once again. As the Hargreeves siblings return for their final mission, fans can look forward to an exhilarating mix of comedy, drama, and punk rock energy.
