Man Slept With Wife’s Body for Days After Killing Her
A government officer who had killed his wife and minor daughter in the Naseerabad area last week slept with the wife's dead body for days.
Police officials on Thursday, January 14 have booked a government officer who had killed his wife and minor daughter in the Naseerabad area last week. The government employee, Mujahid Ali, is a grade 17 federal government worker. He confessed to strangulating his wife and 18-month old daughter during the investigation. The suspect will be presented in court for the procurement of physical remand.
A senior police official revealed that Mujahid Ali killed his wife and daughter to marry another woman. Mujahid Ali confessed that he killed his wife and continued sleeping beside the dead body with her daughter for two-three days. Later, he murdered the child too.
Family members of the Mujahid Ali forced him to get the bodies buried when the stench grew unbearable. Then the suspect began to stage a drama that both victims had passed away due to suffocation that was caused due to the gas leakage in the house. To avoid interrogation, he immediately got himself admitted in the hospital on the pretext of contracting the coronavirus.
Police officials have launched an investigation into the case against the suspect and he is scheduled to be presented in the court for physical remand.
According to Nasseerabad police authorities, Muhammad Ashfaq, a resident of Faisalabad, filed a report that his daughter was killed by her husband who had also killed their child. Ashfaq told the police that his daughter Hina was married to Mujahid Ali for four years
Ashfaq revealed that he was unable to contact Hina since January 3 after which he called his son-in-law. However, his Mujahid Ali’s phone was powered off too. Hina’s father rushed to Rawalpindi and reached Ali’s house where he saw people gathered for a funeral. After this, he called the police
A team of Naseerbad police reached the crime scene and saw the murdered and bloated body of the victim lying on a bed with her legs hanging down from the side. Although the face had turned black, signs of bruises were visible on arms and legs.
The body of the Mujahid Ali’s child was lying on the bed in the adjoining room.
