Sajal Aly Will Star in Jemima Goldsmith’s Romantic-Comedy
Sajal Aly has joined Jemima Goldsmith who is writing and producing her first romantic-comedy, What's Love Got To Do With It?
Last year, news surfaced that journalist and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s former wife, Jemima Goldsmith will be writing and producing her first romantic-comedy What’s Love Got To Do With It? under the roof of her production house, Instinct Production. Reports have further added that she will be collaborating with Indian film-maker Shekhar Kapur on the film, which would be his first since 2007 Oscar-winner Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
What’s Love Got To Do With It? is a cross-cultural romantic-comedy about love and marriage. The film is set between London and South Asia. According to the Daily Mail, Jemima Goldsmith was inspired by her marriage to the premier Imran Khan and the film might be her take on it.
Starring in the film are Lily James, Shahzad Latif and Emma Thompson. However, recent reports suggest that there might be a Pakistani actress maing her international debut- Sajal Aly has been casted for What’s Love Got To Do With It? as confirmed by BBC Asian Network reporter Haroon Rashid.
A few days ago, Haroon Rashid teased the speculation in a tweet
It’s rumoured that Sajal Ali is currently in London shooting for Jemima Goldsmith’s production, What’s Love Got To Do With It, directed by Shekhar Kapur. The film also stars Emma Thompson, Lily James and Shazad Latif. Sajal’s rep has been contacted for confirmation. Huge if true!

However, as of today, the reporter has confirmed the news. Sajal Aly will be making herinternation debut in Jemima Goldsmith’s romantic-comedy.
