Meghan Markle Sues Mail On Sunday

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has sued the British tabloid publisher named ‘The Mail On Sunday.’ It illegally published a private letter that Meghan had sent to her estranged father. Meghan Markle was known as an actress before she got married to Prince Harry. She worked in the famous American serial called ‘SUITS’ which made her gain some fame. She had been dating Prince Harry before they both got married in May 2018.

The accused publisher also owns Daily Mail and MailOnline. They have been sued for breaching personal information under U.K law, which was brought into force in 2018. Prince Harry mentioned that he could not be silent anymore and see his wife suffering. The printed material had been edited and they omitted some parts to bring out a bad image of Markle.

Prince Harry released a statement that read,

Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences — a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son,

Schillings, the law firm handling the case, said the Mail on Sunday was part of “a campaign by this media group to publish false and deliberately derogatory stories about [Meghan], as well as her husband.”

Prince Harry also mentioned how he’s afraid of ‘history repeating itself’ as he has already lost his mother. Princess Diana was also made a part of such propagandas before she died in a car crash. At that time, he was only 12 years old. He’s protective about Meghan and he stated his reasons for being that way too.

Prince Harry also wrote,

I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces,
