Producer Fadia Wajahat is working with Pakistani actors Minal Khan and Yasir Hussain on an upcoming telefilm, Pyaas. The film revolves around the topic of scarcity of water and its repercussions on families and struggling women residing in the rural areas of Pakistan. While water is a necessity to us, in reality is a privilege and that is what this telefilm will delve into.
Speaking on the experience, Minal Khan took to her Instagram to provide her fans some insights into the storyline and how grateful she is for the opportunity to be part of this project.
“Shameem is a window for me to look into the life of underprivileged women of Kohala Paien, Haripur who walk through many miles to fetch water for their daily use,” said Minal Khan, as she revealed glimpses into the telefilm whilst sharing her experience.
“Portraying a girl who goes through all this was really a lifetime experience for me. We consume water daily but don’t realise how precious it could be, for someone living nearby.”
Directed by none other than the renowned Syed Wajahat Hussain, Pyaas is another one of Wajahat’s projects that sheds light on important issues of survival- something he has set out to achieve through his films and plays.
“Good luck, Wajahat bhai and thank you for giving me a challenging character. I am available in all my capacity for any such opportunity next time too,” Minal Khan posted, expressing her determination to work on similar projects in the future.
