Mohammad Amir to be Included in England Tour if COVID-19 Negative
Mohammad Amir is to be included in the England Tour if both of his COVID-19 tests come negative. However, Shoaib Malik's participation is in doubt.
Mohammad Amir is to be included in the England Tour if both of his COVID-19 tests come negative! He will be appearing for a test with masseure Mohammad Imran, and if he clears that, then he will appear for a second test.
While Mohammad Amir was not named in the original squad because he wanted to stay with his family, it seems that Chief Selector Misbah ul Haq wanted to get him on squad after Zoya Amir’s birth. The Chief Selector called Amir to get his consent and then contacted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to arrange for the pacer’s departure to England.
Shoaib Malik’s participation, however, is in doubt. The all rounder was not able to meet his immediate family in India because of the travel ban, which will be lifted on July 31. Since he would still have to wait in quarantine for 14 days on his arrival in England, it is not clear if he would be able to play in the matches; the first T20 match is on August 28 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
