Brands are known for helping change mindsets and attitudes through their commercials. Such is the case with National Foods with their latest commercial.

The media can have a tremendous impact on people and their views. This can be any form of media including commercials. They have the power of changing people’s perceptions about certain societal issues. Such is the case with the newest commercial by National Foods.

The newest advertisement feature three different couples with each working together in helping to prepare their respective meals. The progressive approach taken by the company is a drastic change from what we normally see on the media.

Many food related commercials tend to feature women preparing meals for their husband and kids, thereby projecting the stereotypical notion of cooking being a woman’s job. The progressive approach taken by National shows a change in the mindset of many within the business and marketing world.

Realizing that the world is slowly evolving and people’s attitudes and beliefs are changing, businesses have taken that into consideration and have slowly started producing commercials which help reflect these changes.

The initiative taken by the likes of National reflect the ever changing attitudes and perceptions of brands regarding gender roles. Through such commercials, the company hopes to change the perception of the audiences.

Such advertisements can help do wonders for our society by helping to broaden people’s mindsets and beliefs about gender roles. Normally, people in our society view cooking as a woman’s job. However, such commercials help change these perceptions. People will slowly start to realize the importance of dividing chores among each other. They will also see cooking as not just a job for women but for men as well.
