Runway Pakistan sends heartiest congratulations Omar Abedin’s way for having competed one year as CEO of one of the biggest media buying house, Starcom Mediavest Group Pakistan.
He was previously with Al-Etihad Credit Bureau at their Marketing & PR Communications.
Omar’s professional journey began with Reckitt Benckiser in the capacity of Brand Manager Pakistan & Category Manager Middle East in 1993. He remained at the post for six years before having joined Johnson & Johnson Inc. Canada as the Group Brand Manager Middle East & Product Director Women’s Health – Canada around 2000 – 2004.
Later, in 2004 he took up the role of Senior Brand Manager, Group Brand Manager, & Regional Senior Brand Manager at Novartis Consumer Health Canada Inc. till 2006. He then joined IFFCO as a Marketing Director, Unipex Dairies in 2007. He worked there till 2010 and then moved to Brand Hotline as a Lead Consultant for a good four years in 2010.
Omar Abedin recently penned down his theories in relevance to the world around us changing faster than ever with the intent to educate the new crop of competent marketers.
Omar Abedin got his higher education from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, completing his MBA Marketing in 1991. He got his early schooling from St. Patrick’s High School and Adamjee College Karachi.
