Twinkle Khanna’s book, Pyjamas are forgiving, was launched on Friday evening, September 7.
On the launch day, Twinkle Khanna said, “The big day is here-Book launch jitters and hoping my little satellite reaches Mars safely!”
The event was attended by her husband Akshay Kumar and a couple of celebrities including, Karan Johar, Sonam Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh.
However, Akshay appeared to be very amped up for his wife, Twinkle Khanna’s book and he shared a photo of him on Instagram, holding the book at the event.

The book launch hosted by Karan Johar, he described Twinkle Khanna as a ‘feminist icon’.
On being known as a feminist icon, Twinkle proposed that being an icon resembles being in a precarious circumstance. She said, “I am definitely a feminist, but I find the word icon itself slightly troublesome. Anyone who is put on a pedestal is in a dangerous position because these are very narrow elevated spaces. One little dance, one drink and off you fall. So I am not any kind of an icon. I just do my work, and walk ahead quietly.”
The artist turned-writer at that point additionally talked about how she was influenced by the #MeToo movement, and how it holds a special place in this book.
She said, “Everything that happens in the world, kind of impacts in my writing. The #MeToo movement has impacted all of us. It is not just women, but men too as it has made us examine our ingrained behaviour. And it has found its way in my book as well. I do address the fine line between ‘yes’ and ‘no’ as there is a lot of ambiguity about consensual sex.”
