An exclusive press meet was held at Marriot hotel, Karachi on 29th January where CEO PME Salman Ahmed announced that he aims to bring Qawali to its old glory through a series of 100 concerts around the world. “2018 will be celebrated as the year of the Qawali,” shared Salman Ahmed. The legendary Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will be performing live in more than 100 concerts as part of the ‘Just Qawali 2018’ tour.
The performances are planned in America, Canada, UK, UAE, Bahrain, Oman Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Morocco, South Africa, Kenya, Nepal, Banladesh and Pakistan. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan hinted at that the tour will start from Karachi in March-April and might end in Faislabad.
“We will also launch an album of the world’s biggest tour of Qawali.”, shared Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. He further added “There are 25,000 unrecorded songs of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan which will come out soon”.
Answering a journalist, he said “We will be doing a special concert for the underprivileged and Pakistan’s working class at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on 27th April”.
Also, he was generous enough to sing a few songs on popular demand.
