Sanam Saeed’s Motorway Incident Inspired Short Film
Sanam Saeed's short film, Ab Buss, inspired by the horrifying Motorway incident, highlights Pakistan's deep-rooted rape culture and other social issues.
Directed by the talented Mohsin Talat starring Sanam Saeed Tanisha Shameem and the director himself, Ab Buss takes inspiration from the horrifying Lahore Motorway gang rape that took place earlier this year. The short film has been released on YouTube by See Prime.
Sanam Saeed announced the release of the short film on her Instagram while posting the trailer. She wrote: “She knows she’s done it before and she can do it again – Maya packs for an unexpected trip as she gets a phone call.”
Director, Mohsin Talat released the poster last week which shows the fierce Sanam Saeed holding a gun standing in front of Pakistan’s mountain region. The director wrote: “Trying to stepping out and endeavouring to do something different.”
Sanam Saeed along with other actors and actresses has been very vocal about the horrifying Lahore Motorway incident. She has demanded justice consistently and has not been afraid to attack the authorities.

In an interview before the release of the hit movie, in an interview, Sanam Saeed revealed: “The film was originally titled something else but the producers felt it gave away the story too much. So now it’s called Ab Buss – highlighting the threshold limit of the situation,”
The short film is different from the usual Pakistani content as it highlights the deep-rooted rape culture of our society talks about other related social issues that need to be brought forth.
Instead of the masterpiece being released digitally instead of on-screen, Sanam Saeed said, “I think there is more room for expression and freedom to create different kinds of content. Digital platforms offer (almost) unlimited opportunities.”
