Shahnawaz Amir’s Statement to be Recorded for Sara Inam Murder Case

Sara Inam was murdered last year in Islamabad. Now the prime suspect is being called for a statement without a court hearing based on clear evidence.

Shahnawaz Amir, the primary suspect in the assassination of Sara Inam, will have his statement taken on October 18 instead of today, according to a district and session court judge in Islamabad on Thursday.

Sara, a Canadian citizen, was reportedly assassinated in Islamabad just over a year ago by Shahnawaz, her spouse and the son of prominent reporter Ayaz Amir.

Just one day after arriving in the nation from Dubai, where Sara had been employed, Shahnawaz was detained on September 23 last year in connection with the suspected homicide at a farm in Islamabad’s Shahzad Town.

A day following his detention, he was originally placed under physical confinement to police confinement, and the time was repeatedly stretched.

His mother Sameena Shah, named as other defendants in the prosecution, was given bail following her detention in November of the previous year, while his father was released from the investigation.

Shahnawaz and his biological mother both faced charges in the investigation on December 5.

Dr Bushra Ashraf, who performed a post-mortem examination of Sara, reported the victim’s many head traumas to an Islamabad court in January.

The interrogation of the victim’s father, Inamur Rahim, and paternal uncle of Sara, Ikramur Rahim, was finished in July by Shahnawaz’s attorney.

Inamur Rahim, the father of Sara, has disallowed negotiations with the security, which he also attributes to the case’s ongoing delays.

During a trial court hearing a month ago, Investigation Officer, Habibur Rehman deposed and informed the judge that Shahnawaz had admitted to the heinous act against Sara.
