Sobremesa – A Deep Dish Pizza Lover’s Delight!

Sometime’s its not the ambiance or food that makes up for a great experience; if the service and staff make you feel at home from the moment you enter, then you’re bound to leave with a positive memory. That pretty much sums up our experience at Sobremesa; the staff makes sure you’re comfortable, loving the food and enjoying every aspect of their service.

The service was amazing but the food was not that far behind. With an exquisite menu featuring lots of amazing options, we felt like going all out for lunch and trying out a couple of different things.

Starting off, we went for a Trio of Fries which is perfect to share across the table. They came with 3 toppings: BBQ ground beef, mushroom sauce and homemade cheese sauce. All 3 had a unique flavor profile but the cheese one won my heart.

Question: Are you daring enough to mix the 3? I did and well, it send my taste buds on a roller coaster ride but it was worth it!

Moving on to the mains, we were first served with the Sliced Beef Tenderloin with Fiery Thai Chilli which featured marinated beef, peanuts, Thai chilli and garlic rice on the side. This dish was not that rich in flavor, but it wasn’t bland either. The flavors complimented each other and the steak was nicely cooked, so it wouldn’t leave you unhappy (that I can promise!).

Next came the Linguine with Chicken Ragu; the thing that excited me most about this dish was the home made pasta! Chopped chicken, tomato sauce, olives, mushrooms and herbs; everything I love in a pasta dish. The sauce was nice and rich and packed full of flavor and once again, the pasta made everything better. I literally left some so that I can get it packed and take it home to my mom so she can taste and embark in the glory. They also served a piece of garlic bread on the side, which I was not mad about.

Time for what Sobremesa is famous for; their deep dish pizza! I felt torn between 2 flavors: Chicago Fire and Mexican Fajita, so we ended up ordering both. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed! As soon as the pizza’s hit the table, I found myself salivating. Even though my stomach was already full, I was ready to dive in. Right from the filling to the cheesy sauce on top; it was quite an experience. Both pizza’s had different flavors but were equally delicious. When you bite into it, you can quite easily tell that how much love, effort and flavor has been put into the making of this deep dish pizza.

For drinks, we picked Golden Beach and Pineapple Plantation. Golden Beach looked spectacular with it’s try colored gradient and tasted just as good. Pineapple Plantation was like a fresh breath of air. Rich, creamy and my type of drink; I’d definitely recommend you to give it a go.

Our last dish for the day was Sobremesa Smash Special which not only tasted good, but came with an aspect of theater. The waiter tapped the top with a spoon to smack open the layer of perfectly tempered chocolate which was filled with milky goodness. Underneath this structure was a layered cake which added texture to the entire dish.

The ambiance was a bit dark for my liking since I prefer an open space with lots of natural lighting but that’s just a personal preference thing. The space was beautifully decorated with lot of attention to detail.

Sobremesa is a great place to go with friends or family for a nice, quiet meal that will leave you with a smile on your face. Our overall experience was 9/10 and we would encourage you to give them a visit, if you still haven’t!
