Students Dropout of Private KPK Schools

Many students have left Private Schools in which they were admitted to through the Provincial Government's Iqra Faroghe Taleem Voucher Scheme.

Since 2015, KPK’s Provincial Government has been helping out those in need. Especially in terms of education, apparently. As education is the most essential part for growth of a country, it is important everyone is educated enough. And to promote education, KPK started this education campaign around five years ago. As good as the initiative was, the government couldn’t carry it along for long. 79,000 children were enrolled but in the last two years have fallen down to 34,000 only. Why? Because the government is not paying their fees anymore. For the last two years, Schools have not been receiving fees. Fees that government had to pay.

Why did this happen? Well according to sources at Dawn, this happened after an inquiry was set on the Voucher Scheme. NAB and Provincial Inquiry Team some irregularities in the voucher scheme in terms of money. According to PIT, the six of the schools were not following the directions given by the Scheme providers. As a result of these inquiries, around 125K students have been effected. These students never became a part of this scheme.

To counter all this, the current foundation has blamed the precious one for all the chaos. According to him “Now the current administration has decided to start releasing monthly fee to the private schools from next month,” he said. He added that new enrollment of out of school children would also be started from the next academic year”

We don’t know how much of it is true, but atleast they have started an initiative. And it is time other provinces of Pakistan also start working on such initiative. This country needs educational growth really badly.
