On Friday, the Nepra informed K-Electric of an extra FCA of Rs4.83 per unit to be levied to customers for power consumption in March.

The federal government of Pakistan has approved approximately 26% increase in K-Electric’s tariff to the consumers with immediate effect. 

While KE has been trying to push the blame on the federal government for not providing the oil for them to operate, the latter has accused the former for not investing in a proper distribution system.

NEPRA Chairperson Tauseef Farooqi stated that an investigation will probe into the matter and the reasons will be brought forward to the public. 

In his letter, the CEO of K-Electric Moonis Alvi has noted down the special relief measure that he and his team have taken to “ensure ease and comfort for the residents of the city” in the COVID-19 pandemic.
