The best highlights from the Karachi Literature Festival
The event was popular because of the interactive "Kaaf se Kahani" session.
One of the biggest literary event titled the “Karachi Literature Festival” took place on Wednesday. The event was attended by several key celebrities of the entertainment industry.
These included the likes of Bilal Maqsood and Sarwat Gilani, who acted as the moderator of the “Kaaf se Kahani” session. This was one of the main highlights of the event.
The “Kaaf se Kahani” session was intended to raise a greater discussion on the importance of Urdu. It aimed to highlight the decline in the usage of the Urdu language among the youth.
During the “Kaaf se Kahani” session, the panel discussed the various ways on how to promote Urdu among the youth.
These include creating engaging content in Urdu that will help resonate a lot with the youth. The panel also believed that an Urdu based curriculum will aid the youth in expressing themselves better in Urdu.
When speaking about the event, the GM Marketing of Peak Freans Gluco Aaminah Saeed had this to say, “Peek Freans Gluco as a heritage brand realized that there was a dire need of high-quality Urdu content for children in the media. Through our consumer insights, we realized that mothers are eagerly looking for local content that is not just entertaining and engaging for children but also helps them get attuned to Urdu, their own language. Content is a way for children to learn – especially when it comes to developing language skills. With the mission of nourishing hearts, lives and communities, Peek Freans Gluco has heard these mothers and brought in content that is entertaining for children using Urdu as a medium”.
One of the guests at the event, Bilal Maqsood, had this to say, “This was a dream project for me. I partnered with Peek Freans Gluco of EBM to compose, write and sing 8 original Urdu nursery rhymes for children so as to play my part in giving our kids something to hold on to while growing up- something that’ll keep them connected to their language and cultural values without losing the element of learning with fun.”
All in all, this year’s “Karachi Literature Festival” was an interactive and fun filled event. The “Kaaf se Kahani’ sessions were truly one of the best parts of the event. The session provided an avenue to have important discussions on literary issues plaguing our society.
We hope to see similar sessions like the “Kaaf se Kahani” session in future festivals to come.
