University of Swat Women Campus Announced by KPK Government
KPK government has announced the construction for University of Swat's women campus to promote higher education in women in the tehsil of Barikot.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has announced the construction for University of Swat’s women campus to promote higher education in women. The campus will be built in the tehsil of Barikot.
The announcement for University of Swat’s women campus came from the KPK Minister for Housing Dr Amjad Ali, while he was representing the government in a meeting with University of Swat (UoS) Registrar Mehboob Rehman on August 3.
Construction of the new campus is said to begin soon, with a cost of Rs 0.89 billion, and will be covering 200 Kanals. The funds have already been locked for the project, and it is said that the project will be a collaboration with the federal government. A summary will be sent to the Board of Revenue to get the land.
With the construction of the new campus for women, it is hoped that more women will pursue higher education. The new campus will also aid in generating employment opportunities and promote local businesses in the area.
The KPK government has also announced the construction of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in the same region as the women campus of University of Swat.
