Valima Ceremony of MNA’s Son Amid Lockdown in Karachi

On Sunday, MNA's son Valima Ceremony took place in Karachi violating the lockdown restrictions. The ceremony was attended by several hundred people.

MNA Aslam Khan’s son valima ceremony took place in Karachi yesterday and couple hundred people were invited, violating the lockdown restrictions placed by the Sindh Government.

According to sources, it was revealed that about 500 people were invited out of which more than 250 people were present in the valima ceremony of MNA’s son yesterday before the police tried stopping it. The ceremony was taking place in Khayaban-e-Sehr, DHA.

A few hours into MNA son’s Valima ceremony, local management and police warned the MNA to bring the ceremony to a halt, as it was against the restrictions of lockdown and SOPs. But the ceremony continued regardless of the warnings and the lights being turned off in the venue.

Police were not able to take any strict action against the MNA and the valima ceremony without the permission of either the deputy commissioner or the assistant commissioner.

However, the event was soon after raided by mukhtiarkar of the Civil Lines without the permission of the deputy commissioner.

The Valima ceremony was then organized at the MNA’s residence which was raided by the Civil Lines mukhtiarkar and the ceremony was abruptly ended. All the guests were immediately sent home.
