Women Beaten by Her Husband for Not Dancing
It's shameful to say that there are still men in our society, who beat their wives regardless of any reason. That's what happened today morning.
Domestic violence is nothing more than illiteracy and lack of moral values. There have been several cases all across Pakistan, where women were burned alive in the name of honor, where women were raped in revenge of neglecting a proposal, or at the least, were beaten for some or no reason at all. For quite a long time, the police was not reported such issues and they weren’t able to act in such situations, because it was a ‘family issue’ and should be solved in family only.
Just today, an incident took place, not in a rural area but a highly civilized area of Defence, Lahore. A women was beaten and her head was shaved because she refused to dance in front of her husband and her friends, which by the way, was something that used to happen on almost daily basis. According to Asma, the victim, when she went to the police to seek for help, they kept on asking her for money and didn’t register a complain against the culprits. She had no other option but to come up on social media and record her protest.
Men should know how unmanly it is to beat a women, and there is nothing in it to be proud about. Women, not only keep a higher status in any religion but are also much more valuable than man in the society. One should learn how to respect women rather than humiliating her every now and then.
