Halle Bailey Gets Selected as Ariel for ‘The Little Mermaid’
Disney has selected another princess of colour.
Halle Bailey from Chloe x Halle has been selected to play the role of Ariel for Disney’s live-action remake of ‘The Little Mermaid’. Bailey has been a clear front runner from the beginning for the director Rob Marshall. Melissa McCarthy might be selected for the role of Ursula as there are talks going on between both the parties.
Halle showed her excitement through a tweet:

After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role
