Biggest Gold Heist in Islamabad of PKR 45 Million

A gold heist case has been registered after unidentified men stole gold worth Rs. 45 Million from a jewellery store in Islamabad, marking it the biggest robbery in the city.

A case has been registered on Tuesday, November 25 after three unidentified men looted over Rs. 45 million worth of gold and cash from a jewellery shop in Islamabad on Monday, November 24. This gold heist has marks the capital’s ‘biggest robbery’.

Honey Jewellers, located in Sector E-4/11 was mugged at 13:15 PKT.  The goldsmith claimed, “Dacoits took away gold weighing 350 to 400 tolas and cash Rs 4 million.”  A case of dacoity was registered against the unidentified men under Section 392 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) with Police Station Kohsar on the complaint of Sheikh Muhammad Farid, the victim and owner of the jewellery shop.

Traders of the super Market staged a massive protest against the negligence of police that led to the gold heist. No arrests have been made yet and an investigation has been initiated to locate the suspects.

The three armed robbers looted over 400 tolas of gold and Rs. 4 million in cash. SP City Zone Umer Khan along with forensic experts visited the crime scene and collected evidence and obtained CCTV footage as part of their investigation. SHO PS Kohsar SI Shabbir Tanoli was shown the door by the top Islamabad police officials for negligence, sources confirmed.

The protestors have reportedly given a two-day deadline to the police to locate the robbers and recover the robbed money and ornaments in the gold heist, otherwise, they would shut down the markets in the city in protest.
