The hackers are banging the HBO and GOT team once again. As claimed by the renowned “The Telegraph’, the group of hackers known as “The Mr. Smith Group”, are again asking for a ransom in exchange of preventing the leak of GOT’s season finale. Previously, the same hackers have leaved scripts and several episodes of the same series.
To reveal their proposition and demands to the media, the group contacted news giant ‘Mashable’ and told that they had the passwords of HBO’s social media accounts. Among the other accounts, they also had in their possession Game of Thrones and Westworld.
They further stated that soon a leak of the final episode of the season would be coming. “Be ready for GOT S& E6 &E7 as soon as possible,” the group warned.
When Mashable reached out HBO for the comment, it stated that the group isn’t planning to negotiate any deals with the Mr. Smith Group. This statement could have came as a contradiction to the previous reports that stated that HBO had made the group a “bounty payment” for finding the loophole in the system, amounting to $250,000. We all know what bounty payment actually meant there; they just wanted to prevent further leaks.
As for now, HBO has refused to succumb to the demand of the hackers.
