Powerpuff Girls is Getting a Live Action Reboot
One of Cartoon Network's (CN) biggest hits, the Powerpuff Girls, is getting a live action reboot. It will be aired on CW and will be produced by Warner Bros Television.
One of Cartoon Network’s (CN) biggest hits, the Powerpuff Girls, is getting a live action reboot. It will be aired on CW and will be produced by Warner Bros Television.
The live action reboot will show the Powerpuff Girls as twenty-something year olds who are resentful about losing their childhoods to crime-fighting. In the original CN version, the girls were in elementary school after Professor Utonium created them with sugar, spice and everything nice with a splash of Chemical X.
The original series was created by Craig McCracken for CN; however, for this series, Warner Bros Television has recruited Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier. Cody has won an Academy Award for the best original screenplay in 2008 for writing Juno and also worked on Jennifer’s Body.
Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden will also executive produce via Berlanti Productions.
