Ramadan & The Unusual Pakistani Patience
During the war of life, that each and everyone of us is fighting against, it is really important for the people of Pakistan to be patient during Ramadan.
Prior to this outbreak, Ramadan in Pakistan have been really delightful. The month of blessings, have always blessed us with the best, each and every year. There is this different aura, all together, out in the country. Going out for Sehri with friends, and then coming back home early in the morning. Going out for Iftaari with friends and with family. Those half days in the Office and taking classes for half the time as usual. People sitting out at tea, right after Iftaar, for the love of tea and cigarettes. And not to mention, the hospitality, the welfare that people do through out Ramadan. Moreover, people host iftaar in different part of every city, so that people can just break their fast as soon as possible.
However, this Ramadan is going to be much different. With people, most probably, under quarantine, it would be almost impossible to have such Sehri and Iftaari. Moreover, it would be a bad decision to host Iftaar on the side of the roads, which is the case every year. In such times of crisis, it is our moral duty to hold on to the given precautions. Without any doubt, people would also have to get away from religious practices. Be it Taraveeh, or the Procession on 21st of Ramadan, it is utmost important for the people of Pakistan to stay put at home.
We are a third world country. Although, almost 100 people have passed away due to coronavirus, it is yet under control. Unlike the emerging countries, we still have control over the situation. But it is really important for the citizens to realize this and cooperate with the government. If they don’t, this pandemic can turn out to be the worst in the history of Pakistan.
