Chief Minister Announces Rs7billion Ramazan Package

CM Usman Buzdar on Monday announced a Rs7billion Ramazan Package which will be providing relief to the people during the holy month.

Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar on Monday announced a Rs7billion Ramazan Package which will be providing relief to the people during the holy month.

The CM, while chairing a meeting of the cabinet committee, said that 313 Ramazan bazaars will be established across Punjab where a 10-kilogram flour bag will be available at Rs300. The Punjab government is set to provide a Rs3.5billion subsidy for the purpose, the Chief Minister added.

Shops with low and fair prices will also be established to provide fruits and vegetables at the same rates as they were in 2018. Gram flour (besan), dates, dried chickpeas (chana daal) and other items will also be available at those low rates, the CM said. Additionally, sugar will be provided at Rs60 per kg and ghee, chicken and eggs sold forRs10 to Rs15 lower than the market price.

On the whole. the CM’s directives aim to provide maximum relief to the civilians. He further ordered to establish a Sahulat Bazaar Authority to provide permanent relief to the consumers from the artificial price increase. He ordered the following moderating steps while asking to arrange Ramdan bazaars; the saved money to be utilised for providing relief to the people. The CM directed that the Ramazan bazaars be inaugurated from Shaaban 25.

“The provincial ministers, secretaries and I will also visit Ramazan bazaars,” Usman Buzdar claimed.

Besides that, the CM also chaired another meeting at his office to review the performance of reforms in the Board of Revenue (BoR) for easing the lives of the common man. At the meeting, a senior member of the Board of Revenue briefed the attendees about departmental reforms.
