Coke Studio 10 Launches First Episode with Musical Revolution

Coke Studio 10 faced a lot of trouble after it managed to destroy the National Anthem of Pakistan and received criticism for it. Just yesterday, it launched the first episode of this season and we must say that it has once again proved its musical prowess. Let’s take a look at the line-up of first day:

‘ALLAHU AKBAR’ BY SHAFQAT AMANAT ALI AND AHMED JAHANZEB:

The show opened with Allahu Akbar by Ahmed Jahanzed and Shafqat Amanat Ali, and it was no less than what we deserved. It lived up to the expectations of Sufi Mystical that was part of the original track. With the right amount of classical training and the perfect notes, CS 10 couldn’t have begun with a more positive starting note.

‘CHAA RAHI KALI GHATA’ BY HINA NASRULLAH AND AMANAT ALI:

The beautiful ballad sung by the duo was mesmerizing and hit the right notes. The soulful new version was filled with depth and love. But, there was a minor setback and that was Amanat Ali’s voice which was heavily accentuated. A little ease to it could have made the ballad perfect.

‘MUNTAZIR’ BY DANYAL ZAFAR AND MOMINA MUSTEHSAN:

While it wouldn’t be wrong to say that this signature Strings track deserved more attention and care from the singer’s part, it was the drawback of the entire episode. Both Momina and Danyal were sitting true to the definition of amateurs and their voice didn’t do justice to the pitch of this song. But, if there is one thing that we strongly not was the chemistry between the duo. It is safe to say that no other duo has struck the same chords as them in the entire Coke Studio journey of eleven years.

‘RANJISH HI SAHIB’ BY ALI SETHI:

If I were to be asked the most iconic song of the recent times, I would say Ali Sethi’s version of ‘Ranjish Hi Sahi’ without the blink of an eye. This song definitely stole the show and entire episode, storming the social media with sheer talent that is Ali Sethi. It would be pertinent to mention here that he did not tweak the song, but paid tribute to the legend Mehid Hassan. After listening to Sethi, it could be said that there would have been no better choice than him to sing this Ghazal.

This was it with the first episode of Coke Studio, it remains to be seen what further we have in the upcoming episodes.
