US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar sparked a frenzy after her Spotify playlist of Muslim artists from around the world featured Pakistani singers.

US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar sparked a frenzy in Pakistan after she recently shared on her Instagram that she will be sharing her Spotify playlist of Muslim artists from around the world that she enjoys listening to. To our surprise, the list included quite a few Pakistani singers’ names.

After posting the photo, Ilhan Omar, in the comment’s section of the post, tagged a bunch of artists, including Pakistan’s pride singer Atif Aslam, British-Pakistani actor and rapper Riz Ahmed and British singer-songwriter Sami Yusuf.

“I am jamming to the second part of my Muslim Vibes playlist as we pass the final bill to send checks to people and Sensible Gun Control legislation. I hope you check out these [fire emoji] artists, who are mostly unknown to the US audience and give them a boost,” wrote Ilhan Omar.

Ilhan Omar’s list features Kids by Abdullah Siddiqui and Shamoon Ismail.
Acknowledging this recognition, Abdullah took to Instagram, shared the picture and wrote: “I’m on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s Spotify playlist. Surreal.”

Fans in the comment section lauded the acknowledgement and bombarded Abdullah with congratulatory messages, while fans of Shamoon also chimed in.

Previously, Bollywood actor Rohit Saraf, who was in The Sky Is Pink, Ludo and Hichki, also shared his love for Pakistani singer-songwriter, Shamoon Ismail.
“Can’t stop listening to @shamoonismail‘s music.”
