Top Gun: Maverick Starring Tom Cruise Gets Delayed

Top Gun: Maverick, starring Tom Cruise, is a sequel of the original Top Gun released in 1986 that has been delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Top Gun: Maverick is a sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 classic movie called Top Gun. Fans have waited for 34 years for a sequel, which is now going to take even longer. Due to coronavirus, the release dates of many movies have been delayed along with Top Gun:: Maverick. Tom Cruise announces this sad news on his Twitter.

The tweet said:

“I know many of you have waited 34 years. Unfortunately, it will be a little longer. Top Gun: Maverick will fly this December. Stay safe, everyone.”

Top Gun: Maverick cost over $150 million, hence, the delay will play out in favor of Paramount. Paramount is expecting to cover the cost by selling tickets which is why they can use this time and market the movie globally. Cruise was also working on his other movie but due to the pandemic hitting Italy, he will now also participate in the marketing campaign for Top Gun: Maverick.

Fans are devastated over this news. One commented: “I can’t. I just can’t. It was the only thing I was looking forward to see this summer!” and another commented: “Gutted but it’s totally understandable. Please stay safe everyone.” Just when the wait was about to get over, it got prolonged. However, die-hard fans are ready to wait because after all, that’s all they can do.

According to the latest reports, the release date of the eagerly awaited film has been moved from June 24 to December 23. So, we all need to wait for the breezy winters now!
